The team at La Cumbre Animal Hospital is one of the strongest animal care teams in the region. We each are dedicated in our role in your pet’s care.

Dr. Beverly Holmes
Owner/ Veterinarian

Dr. Holmes pursued veterinary medicine to improve the quality of life for our non-speaking companions. After receiving her degree in Veterinary Medicine, she completed an intensive internship at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City. There she received advanced training in Internal Medicine, Surgery and Critical Care. She is a past-president of the Santa Barbara Ventura Veterinary Medical Association (2006-2007). Dr. Holmes has volunteered in multiple spay/neuter programs, and has worked locally with ResQCats. She has donated 6 weeks of time so far to the Ester Honey Foundation to improve the quality of life for the animals of the South Pacific.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Holmes can be found spending time with her husband, 2 children, cats Java and Jinx, dogs Bodhi, Ivy and Poppy, and too many chickens to list names. She also enjoys surfing, kayaking, cycling, hiking, or doing most anything outdoors.

Dr. Eve Kuesis
Owner/ Veterinarian

Dr. Kuesis grew up in Los Angeles in a home full of pets. She knew as a kid that she wanted to help animals and become a veterinarian. Dr. Kuesis got her Bachelor of Science from UC Berkeley and then went on to UC Davis for veterinary school, getting her degree in veterinary medicine in 1993. Dr. Kuesis practiced veterinary medicine in Chicago and then Scottsdale, Arizona before returning to Southern California in 2005. Dr. Kuesis is married to an equine veterinarian, Bruce, and has three children. Their family includes 3 dogs, 2 cats, several horses and lots of fish! When not at La Cumbre Animal Hospital, Eve is busy with her kids’ sports, riding her horse, or taking part in her favorite sport…swimming.

Dr. Annie O’Donnell
Associate Veterinarian

A native of North Carolina, Dr. Annie O’Donnell fell in love with the people and environs of the California coast when she attended The Thacher School in Ojai. Years later, she returned to California to study at Western University of Health Sciences where she graduated from the DVM program. Dr. O’Donnell is pleased to call Santa Barbara home and to attend to the health needs of small animals within the community. She chose to serve at La Cumbre Animal Hospital because of the professional services rendered and its commitment to provide excellence in veterinary care. With her medical knowledge and skillful techniques, Dr. O’Donnell strives to maintain this high quality of veterinary medicine. In her spare time she enjoys travel, cooking and competing in running and biking events.

Dr. Cameron Stotter
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Cameron Stotter is a UCDavis graduate, who spend her undergrad years in Vermont. She has worked all over our beautiful state of California before finding her home here on the Central Coast and her professional home here at La Cumbre Animal Hospital. She has been a Veterinarian since 1999, practicing at many different Animal Hospitals and clinics throughout the state and otherwise. Dr. Stotter started working here at La Cumbre around Thanksgiving of 2016 and has been here ever since. She loves all animals, but is especially fond of orange tabbie cats. When she’s not working, Dr. Stotter enjoys exploring new areas and restaurants as well as relaxing on her deck or at the beach!

Dr. Jeff Pelton
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Pelton graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, and has spent the past 17 years practicing in Oregon after practicing in Northern California. He has recently moved to Santa Barbara to be with his partner Kirste Timm and her daughter Paisley. The rest of Dr. Pelton’s family includes their 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse. In his free time Dr. Pelton likes to spend his time hiking, swimming, and reading
