Veterinarian
A Southern California native, Dr. Alonso received her Bachelors of Science, Masters of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 2003. As early as she can remember, Dr. Alonso was raised above a medical clinic where her grandparents were physicians and surgeons. Ultimately, it was her love of animals that drove her focus toward Veterinary Medicine; she has a special appreciation of the human-animal bond and the challenges that arise when caring for senior pets.
Her areas of special interest include geriatric medicine, surgery, and acupuncture. Dr. Alonso has completed veterinary acupuncture and food energy therapy courses with Dr. Huisheng Xie, a third-generation practitioner of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at the Chi Institute in Florida. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge of alternative modalities to keep pets happy, healthy, and balanced.
Dr. Alonso is a dog-mom to two rescue dogs: “Taylor”, a Schnauzer mix from the humane society, and “Coco”, a spicy chihuahua mix.
In her free time, Dr. Alonso enjoys dancing, drumming, yoga, capoeira, sailing, traveling and anything related to ocean life!
